It means to me above and beyond engagement; it means: "living the moments of learning".

I am a teacher at an alternative school in East Texas with a student body comprised of low-income, high-risk teens. Most are pregnant teens, teen moms and dads, and come from non-citizen families. Their knowledge of the outside world is very limited, but digital learning has made it possible for them to visually experience a variety of countries and cultures and to have an actual conversation with people living in the area. With internet access, students are able to explore a world of possibilities of career choices, research colleges and universities, enroll in online classes, and gather a wealth of information on endless topics. In my Food Science and Child Development classes, students have the ability to read the latest findings by the FDA regarding legislation on food policies and safety, and up-to-the-minute information on parenting, heredity and environmental issues affecting the developing child, and the amazing results of brain-based learning. The availability of information is infinite. School provided digital learning is essential to our students who have little or no access to at-home technology.

I have been using Discovery Education for the last 7 years and it has really had an impact on my students. When a middle school student can see a concept, rather than just read about it...it is remembered much better!

My 4th grade class loves the way we can learn about different subjects with videos and cartoons, This is a great way to introduce and reinforce learning in the classroom.

I teach Bilingual 5th grade science. It is so cool to have so many clips at my fingertips. I love showing 1-5 min. openers to get the students excited for a new concept we are studying. I love having the DEN with all their wonderful ideas. I love having pictures that I can pull up for them to use. It is a resource I use daily.

I am teaching at an alternative high school. My children are all in areas of learning. They each have a notebook in class. Discovery education enables me to let them experience places and things. They can learn and experience at their own personal pace. Science is already a difficult concept for them and this really helps them feel up close and personal. Thank you so much for your work.

In our ESL/ELA classroom, my students and I are given diverse digital learning resource opportunities through the power of digital learning. It is relevant that they see visuals through technology and use it so that they are prepared for future goals and opportunities.

Digital learning is great. It allows me to illustrate to my Pre-K class certain concepts they do not understand or just a different way to look at a topic through animation and real life photos. You can show pictures of history on a big screen to compare and contrast history to present time events such as the first president, Abraham Lincoln, Black history, Indians, other cultures, etc.

Digital learning means talking to my students in their own language. I teach GT students and they need more than just a regular classroom. I have been using Discovery for several years. I also train teachers throughout the Canutillo district and they are amazed of what Discovery can offer. I also have been a DEN member since 2005. I get a lot of support from the members. When I'm going to introduce a new unit I fist look at Discovery to get my lesson plans, they have done them for you, so why waste time looking anywhere else. THANK YOU Discovery, my students love you.

To me, digital learning sets a new standard for the world of science. Videos make content come alive and student interest soars to new heights. I love DiscoveryEd and all that it has to offer this new generation of students.

Digital learning means having the world available to my students in just one "click". In addition, the lesson plans and teachers' guides that are attached to the videos, and other academic material are simply excellent. I teach children from many and varied countries, and Digital Learning allows them to show the countries and talk about their countries' history to other students. A great tool to involve culture in my lessons, and to teach global issues to my students. Thank you for having Digital learning available to us.

Multimedia, hands-on, current, interactive - what's not to love? Great resource.
I am able to pull up a variety of French videos for all 4 levels of French in a matter of minutes. From the alphabet, French foods to major historical events and people that inspire and impact my students' lives. It is a great tool for the culture and connections curriculum requirements for a foreign language.

In an ever-changing world of technology, digital learning in the classroom is in the forefront. The videos still captivate my students and help to motivate them to want to learn more. It covers everything from the social sciences to math and language arts. Not only does it support my students' learning but also it helps me as a facilitator of learning to keep up with new ideas.

In my school district, it is pretty rural. We have a total of four schools in our district. Most of the students in my class will never get to experience the world around them--having lived and adapted to small town life almost exclusively. Digital learning through Discovery has allowed me to take my students on a virtual fieldtrip and into a classroom filled with imagination and possibilities one can typically only get first hand. I use it for science and social studies in fifth grade and my students absolutely love it!

Digital learning in the classroom has allowed my students to see things they may never get to visit or experience in their lives. We are a rural area, and it is not uncommon to hear of students who have never been outside of this small town. It has helped me so much in my instruction. Teaching special education students requires a lot of different types of instruction. When I can use digital media to enhance my instruction it helps me and my students to learn in different ways.

I have been using Discovery Ed in my classroom since I started teaching back in 2003. For 10 years, my students have been able to see and hear videos covering a variety of subjects in Social Studies and Science. The best part of using video in the classroom is the students can watch a re-enactment of what they just read or will read in the future. Making connections with the videos and readings have had an enormous impact on student learning and retention of information. Seeing it in their brains as they read it can be difficult at times. Going to DE and finding a video that puts those words into action is phenomenal. The ironic part is non of my students fall asleep watching videos...guess its just a different style of video than I was used to falling asleep watching in class when I was their age :)

My students are able to make connections with the concepts and ideas through digital learning. What is a place, or vocabulary word, or an idea on a page suddenly becomes alive and real, making the experience memorable...and learned.

Digital leaning means the difference between night and daylight. Many of the students I teach are visual/auditory learners. Discovery Education provides the learning edge between the "haves" and the "have-nots". Disadvantaged students can receive a quality education along with their affluent peers nationwide.

Digital learning means a new lifestyle of knowledge to the students in our low-income community. We have over six hundred homeless children in Putnam County Florida. Having digital learning in my classroom is wonderland to these students that never get to experience it anywhere else.

I use Discovery Education to introduce lesson topics or reinforce what I have already taught. It brings to life the history lessons that I am trying to help the children understand. I love Discovery Education! I can type in any topic and have plenty of resources to choose from no matter what I'm teaching! Thank you, Discovery Education! And congratulations on your 500 millionth digital resources!

Digital learning means that our students, some who have never left their neighborhoods except to come to school have the opportunity to view outside worlds and adventures they would never see otherwise. It helps our students see the world in a different manner.

I love digital learning, because it can take my lower socioeconomic students to a level they will never experience in real life. Digital learning will enrich them beyond their physical means. This will benefit in reading and writing, but more importantly, as a person.

I love Discovery Ed. Last year I had a special needs child who benefitted greatly from the science videos. It helped her understand concepts she couldn't understand from just a textbook. Also, the videos provide another medium that addresses the learning styles of all children. Our school has provided all our students access to the videos and the assessment activities. This is such a good tool for the children of the digital age. It is also exciting for those of us who are not of the digital age!

Digital learning has helped engage my students in classroom instruction. I use it as supplemental tool to bring to life health concepts. My students have explored the human body, virtually visited agricultural sites, and discussed sensitive topics such as bullying by sharing stories that are not their own. DE has opened my urban classroom and allowed my students real world experiences- virtually.

Digital learning means and has been a portal to other worlds not accessible to my inner city students. It is learning through visual and audio engagement. My students utilize Discovery Education in centers where they have to respond to what they have watched or read. We do whole group instruction where articles or clips are pulled up and viewed on the Smartboard as an enhancement to the lesson being taught. It is also good for my students to hear a voice from time to time other than my own since my students are with me for instruction all day.

Digital learning has helped me teach my students in their "native" language. They have become critical viewers of media as they watch the videos and compare them with what they have read or seen elsewhere. Last year, some of my students created a digital story/video of our trip to the nature trail after viewing a DE video about animals in the forest and it was THEIR idea! YAY!! I love how the resources on DE help me teach creativity while engaging my students in 21st century learning platforms and motivating them to become self-directed learners.

I utilize the resources of Discovery Education and have found the videos and quizzes appropriate. The videos have helped to generate and maintain interest on core subjects and topics that I teach. It gives students an experience that is relevant, appropriate and one that they would not experience any other place.

We are very remotely located on the Navajo Nation. We love interactive websites, virtual labs, and all of the museum sites. We have participated in distance learning scientific investigations with classes in Hawaii with our Tandberg system. We are learning digital storytelling to share our Navajo cultural stories and maybe enter a movie contest.

As an art and music teacher digital learning resources are a huge blessing. In art I use them for referencing artist's work and for instructions from YouTube by master artists and in music I use them for music games, exposing children to musical performance and information about instruments. They simply loved the 60 Minute Boomwacker insturctional lesson from YouTube. Having the "world" at your fingertips offers amazing opportunities in educating my children and myself in exciting vivid ways. I love using my large screen TV as a computer monitor.

Digital learning is necessary to bridge the gap for all learners of the 21st century. I am currently an ESL teacher with SPED students in my class and technology has definitely created a balance in the learning environment. There are so many interactive technology programs that have been created to make the classroom an exciting atmosphere of productivity. I love to focus on digital technology programs that focus on and enhance literacy, English language, and writing.

My "littles" otherwise known as kindergarten students will find their curiosity shaken alive. They will discover that they want to immerse themselves in things they didn't know even existed, visually travel to the homeland of their parents/grandparents/great grandparents. They will use tools to engage them in learning, tools to create, tools to satisfy what only 5 and 6 year olds can imagine and create.

I work with students who have great difficulty visualizing. Having the opportunity to present the material in a visual digital format is useful. Most of them also have limited experience with anything outside their local sphere. I love being able to expose them to other cultures and ways of thinking with motivating digital media.

Digital learning means the world to me. It is a great way to infuse technology into my classes full of diverse learning styles. To enhance student interest, to investigate places we may or may not get to travel to, and to explore the world's resources is great! My students are currently working on what is technology. Comparing and contrasting digital to non-digital technology and "excited about learning. Next, they will be making a robot. None of this would be possible if it was not for digital learning.

Digital learning, especially with regard to the resources offered on Discovery Education, has broadened the limited experience of my students. We have observed spiders at extremely close range through the photography, and we enjoy getting active in our room with Slim Goodbody. It has been a fabulous way to introduce my first graders to the world around them.

I am a new teacher in the Long Beach school district and am apart of a new, very exciting way of teaching and learning. Nelson Academy in Signal Hill is LBUSD's first school to broadly integrate wireless iPad technology based on instructional strategies called for in the state's Common Core Standards. Integrating Discovery Education in our curriculum with the latest educational technology would increase the students' success in their academic performance.

"Teachers will not be replaced by technology but teachers who use technology will probably replace teachers who do not." a quote by Ray Clifford that sums up my feelings on Digital Learning. The learning opportunities are endless. Students find information in an instant with google, journal quickly adding pictures to their writing using Penzu, create informative presentations with Prezi, Blog about books from their reading logs, collaborate writing on Google Drive, share thoughts on our class wiki, practice daily math on Sumdogs, take formative assessments using I-Ready....the possibilities are endless. It is a Digital World and our students do not know it any other way. Not including it in your teaching will only hinder them. As a teacher, once you start, you will only find most of it beneficial and inspiring!
