Dr. Anthony Jackson
Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools (NC)
Dr. Anthony Jackson, is currently the Superintendent of the Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools, serving 27 schools and 17,500 students with 2500 licensed and support staff members. Previously, Dr. Jackson served as Superintendent of Schools the Henry County Public Schools in Collinsville, VA.
Dr. Jackson has had a distinguished 23-year career in public education serving several districts in VA and NC, as a teacher, principal, and assistant principal, central office administrator, and Superintendent.
Dr. Jackson has a proven record of success in raising student achievement; under his leadership Henry County’s schools consistently performed well above state and federal expectations.
Dr. Jackson has introduced several initiatives at Nash-Rocky Mount Public Schools designed to improve student performance: The Digital Transformation Initiative will provide laptops, 1000 iPads and 2500 other mobile devices across the district to increase student engagement, differentiation and academic rigor as well as increase enrollment in higher level math, advanced placement and dual enrollment courses.
Dr. Jackson holds a B.S. from East Carolina University, a M.A. from North Carolina Central and an Ed.D from Walden University. Dr. Jackson is described as a strong, focused and well-respected leader. His exemplary leadership skills have propelled him quickly to top leadership positions everywhere he has served.
