The Idaho State Department of Education and Discovery Education have partnered together to broaden student horizons and improve academic achievement by providing digital content to classrooms across the state. Through a unique combination of digital resources and teacher-approved, research-based professional professional development, this partnership supports educators in Idaho as they create 21st century learning environments that engage and inspire students to reach their highest potential.

A Recent Event: Reed Timmer, Discovery Channel's Storm Chaser, Visits Middleton High School to ignite students' interest in STEM

On Thursday, October 25, Reed Timmer, chief meteorologist for Discovery Education and extreme weather enthusiast from the Discovery Channel series Storm Chasers, addressed 800+ students, teachers and administrators in a special assembly at Middleton High School. During the assembly, Timmer shared his experience filming and collecting real-time data from some of the most powerful storms on record. He also discussed the importance of STEM education to develop the curiosity, critical thinking and reasoning skills necessary to meet the technology challenges that lie ahead in the world.
