A former educator, data coach, and master professional developer at both the school site and district level, Dr. Carol Wetzel brings a wealth of expertise to Discovery Education. In her current role, Carol consults with district leaders across the nation to develop custom professional development implementations that truly meet the needs of individual school districts. From development of the Discovery Education Professional Development team to facilitating 21st Century Skills Learning Design and professional development evaluation protocols, Wetzel is passionate about delivering high quality, customized professional development that reaps measurable results in both increased student engagement and academic achievement.
Prior to her career at Discovery Education, Carol was a project manager and master professional developer for The Princeton Review and served as a Strategic Business Development Executive for Pearson's digital division in Florida. She is a graduate of the Bank of America Leadership Institute and holds a doctorates degree in organizational leadership, school administration. Prior to her career in education, Carol was the CEO of Forever, Inc., a California corporation and co-owner of Harley Davidson Santa Maria, California.
I'm eligible for retirement at 55 in Milwaukee Public Schools but because of Discovery Education, I feel that I could teach another 10 years because of the tools that this has become for me in my classroom.
