Half-life

Definition
A sample of 100g of carbon-14 reduces to half its amount in 5730 years. Another 5730 years later, it reduces by another half. This process is continuous and every 5730 years it reduces to half. The time taken for half the atoms of a radioactive material to decay is called its half life.
