Visit the Vatican and be on the front lines of Italian conservation helping scientists study loggerhead sea turtles.

Discovery Student Adventures –South Africa
South Africa—an ancient land with a budding democracy and an Apartheid system overthrown. Students will visit Sterkfontein Caves, where scientists have discovered many hominid fossils dating back more than four million years and Robben Island, the former prison where Nelson Mandela lived as a political prisoner. Students will explore the Cape of Good Hope, where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans merge and then head off on safari to Kruger National Park, a wildlife preserve teeming with big game and magnificent scenery. Lastly enjoy a safari to Kruger National Park to visit a wildlife preserve.

Discovery Student Adventures –Yellow Stone & Grand Teton
Yellowstone and Grand Teton—Students will visit iconic landmarks, be trained in non-invasive wildlife tracking techniques, and witness breathtaking scenery as you learn about these natural wonders alongside park rangers and wildlife experts. Students can attend a white-water rafting excursion on the Snake River, learn about the reintroduction of wolves into the park, and collect DNA evidence for scientists.

Washington, D.C., the showcase of American democracy. A city of museums, monuments, and political power. The trip starts with visits to the U.S. Capitol Building, Lincoln Memorial, Air and Space Museum, and the Museum of Natural History, which is part of the Smithsonian Institution. Students will embark on an eco-adventure, helping scientists study the ecosystems of Chesapeake Bay.

The Grand Canyon, one of world’s great natural wonders, and to the Southwest with its rich pre-Columbian history, desert beauty, and enduring cowboy culture. Join astronomers in exploring distant galaxies using a Perkins reflector telescope. Next, explore the Montezuma Castle, an pre-Columbian site of cave dwellings, pueblo ruins and 1,000 years old artifacts.

Discovery Student Adventures – Ecuador / Galapagos Islands
Ecuador and the Galápagos, home to the ancient Incas, stomping grounds to Charles Darwin, and the world’s greatest living scientific laboratory. In the Andean Highlands, students trek the Inca trail learning the flora and fauna. Scale the Cotopaxi volcano and then take in South America at a café in the World Heritage city of Quito. Once in the Galapagos Islands, learn ecology at the Charles Darwin Center, and help out at the breeding center for giant tortoises.

Students will travel from the beautiful beaches and vast outback of Australia, to the pristine lakes and magnificent glaciers of New Zealand. The journey begins in New Zealand as students visit Christchurch Antarctic Centre and receive an introduction to life in Antarctica. The Australian adventure begins with a scenic sailboat cruise in iconic Sydney Harbor and get close to koalas and kangaroos, and then it's off to the Great Barrier Reef where students spend two days studying alongside experts.
