Senior Vice President, Digital Learning Officer and Managing Director, International

Kelli Campbell fulfills dual roles - overseeing product development for Discovery Education’s suite of SaaS-based education services, as well as spearheading the company’s international expansion, including all operational management of the DE business outside of the US/Canada.

Campbell currently serves as the company’s Digital Learning Officer where she leads product development across curriculum and instructional services ensuring that high-quality, engaging digital resources are provided to schools worldwide.

As part of that work, she oversees the team leading DE’s personalized learning initiatives. In 2011, Campbell helped fuel market innovation by launching the company’s entrance into the digital textbook market. Spanning science, social studies, and math, the Discovery Education “Techbooks” are positively impacting millions of students and teachers worldwide. Additionally, Campbell leads the company’s international expansion, bringing Discovery Education’s digital resources and professional development to educators and students worldwide. As Managing Director for DE International, Campbell oversees the company’s business development and operations outside of the U.S./Canada. With the international hub based in London, England, the business currently serves schools in more than 50 countries, including a nationwide learning initiative with the Government of Egypt.

Campbell is an acknowledged thought leader on education’s transition to digital content. She has presented at a variety of education conferences on the subject and has contributed to numerous articles about the replacement of textbooks by digital resources. She served on the committee that developed the “Digital Textbook Playbook,” the Obama administration’s plan for digital textbooks in schools. Campbell received the Alliance for Women in Media’s “Women with Solutions” award and has been acknowledged with a Woman in Technology Leadership Award.

Before joining the company, Campbell served as Vice President and General Manager for Clearvue & SVE, a Chicago-based educational content company. An early pioneer in using cloud-based digital content for instruction, she directed the creation and launch of the award-winning media-on-demand system.

Campbell is a member of the Board of Trustees for The Woods Academy and a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She currently lives with her husband and two children in Bethesda, Maryland.
