Barbara Humpton, CEO of Siemens USA, will keynote and introduce the conversation of the day—“Coming Out of the Fog: The Next Generation of Learning.” In this session, we will explore and assess the following questions: What has it taken to help schools re-open? How can we ensure continuity in learning regardless of the next challenge? What are the ways in which companies are working to support and prepare the next generation of diverse talent? Begin the day reflecting on where we have been and then shift attention to the ways educators, students, and communities are innovating from the learnings of these past few years.

Building a Future-Ready Generation through an SEL Lens
The recent Surgeon General report highlights the amount of stress and trauma that our students are navigating every day and the pandemic has exacerbated these issues for students, educators and families across the country. In this session, we will discuss how creating safe and engaging spaces in our classrooms through SEL supports educators and builds a strong foundation for students that enables them to have long-term success. Moderated by Discovery Education, this guided dialogue with industry and organizational leaders will help us better understand the emerging needs of our public school system and illuminate opportunities that can be positively impacted through public-private partnership.

Health Equity and Quality Education in American Schools
Conversations around health equity are increasingly paramount, if not central, to systems change and transformation. If healthy and vibrant communities depend in large part on equitable access to quality education, how can we ensure students and families have the resources they need to thrive at school and beyond? In this session, we’ll hear from leading companies as they define how their organizations are prioritizing health equity in their core business and ways they are developing actionable strategies on the ground.
