The DEN Summer Institute (DENSI) is a one-of-a-kind, community focused, professional learning experience exclusive for DEN STAR educators!
DENSI participants will come together over the course of two days to learn, share, and connect with other STARs and DE Teams.
DENSI is virtual, completely free to attend, and is designed for all DEN STAR educators regardless of role or experience level! Join us for DENSI 2023 to grow your professional network and uncover resources and strategies to engage all learners.

Here’s what you can expect from our time together.
Tuesday, July 18
10:30 AM – 3:00 PM ET
Day 1
Join Discovery Education team members and be the first to hear about the exciting updates coming to the DE learning platform for the year ahead. You’ll join “DE Foundations” sessions based on your experience level and will build off these sessions throughout the entirety of DENSI. We’ll explore Discovery Education’s suite of products, a new “game”, and close out with the first round of Community-led presentations – the cornerstone of DENSI.
Wednesday, July 19
10:30 AM – 3:00 PM ET
Day 1
Building on the buzz of our first day, we’ll start by exploring DE’s learning platform and our Social Impact programs! We’ll explore DE’s Content catalog and learn about what’s coming to the platform. Day 2 will also consist of multiple breakouts to connect with fellow STARs and a second round of Community-led presentations. We’ll end the day by coming together and sharing our ideas for how we can maximize our newfound DE knowledge going in to the next school year.

Who is eligible for DENSI 2023?
DENSI is open to STAR educators. If you are not currently a DEN STAR, learn more and apply by July 17, 2023. However, in order to receive an event kit, you must apply by June 30, 2023.
What is the time commitment for DENSI? Do I have to attend both days?
Participants are expected to attend the full, two-day experience. We will have short, scheduled breaks each day and would appreciate your full attention during the sessions. Because of the nature of our many collaborative and breakout sessions, not all content will be recorded..
What should I expect after I register for DENSI?
After registering you will receive a confirmation email. In the weeks prior to the event, you will have access to a private event page with session details and suggestions for preparing for our time together. Please contact DECommunity@disoveryed.com if you do not receive a confirmation email after registering.
Will I need to sign in to Discovery Education to participate?
Yes, you’ll need to have an active login. If you need assistance signing in, please contact Education Support.
What does it cost to attend DENSI?
DENSI is completely FREE. Check out all our free events on our calendar.
Will I receive a certificate for participating in the event?
At the end of the event, participants will receive a survey to complete, which will generate a link to a printable certificate. Share this certificate with your local school organization to request hours for professional development credit. How your district chooses to honor it is at their discretion.
