The DEN Summer Institute (DENSI) is a one-of-a-kind, collective professional learning experience exclusive for DEN STAR educators. For two immersive days, DENSI participants engage in a comprehensive learning track that allows them to learn, share, and connect with other members from around the world! They will uncover new ideas and resources, as well as an expanded professional learning network to support their instructional and leadership goals. Educators who join us for DENSI will leave feeling energized and confident in using Discovery Education to impact students and other educators for the year ahead. DENSI 2022 is designed for all DEN STAR educators who are teachers, principals, instructional coaches, technology facilitators, library media specialists, and members of district support teams.

Day 1
Join the Discovery Education team and hear about the exciting product and content updates coming to the DE learning platform for the upcoming school year. And, connect with other community members in a similar role to brainstorm and share ideas on using DE in the classroom and sharing it within your school or district. You’ll also have the opportunity to attend a session of a fellow community member to see DE in action!
Day 2
Build on the excitement from our first day and invite a friend to join us as we take a deeper dive into Discovery Education. We’ll start the day learning more about DE’s learning platform and our Social Impact programs, then allow time for you to connect with your best resource: EACH OTHER! You’ll have another opportunity to select a session and hear from a fellow community member to see how they explicitly use DE in their school. And we’ll close the day, together, sharing our best practices and ideas for how we head into the next school year maximizing the use of DE!
Who is eligible for DENSI 2022?This year, DENSI 2022 is open to all DEN STAR educators & those individuals who DEN STARs choose to invite for day 2.
What is the time commitment for DENSI? Do I have to attend both days?Participants are expected to attend the full, two-day experience. Guests will attend day 2 only. We will have short, scheduled breaks each day and would appreciate your full attention during the sessions. Because of the nature of our many collaborative and breakout sessions, not all content will not be recorded.
What should I expect after I register for DENSI?After registering you will receive a confirmation email. In the weeks prior to the event, you will have access to a private event page with session details and suggestions for preparing for our time together.
Will I need to sign in to Discovery Education to participate?Yes, you’ll need to have an active login. If you need assistance signing in, please contact Education Support.
What does it cost to attend DENSI?DENSI is completely FREE. Check out all our free events on our calendar.
Will I receive a certificate for participating in the event?At the end of the event, participants will receive a survey to complete, which will generate a link to a printable certificate. Share this certificate with your local school organization to request hours for professional development credit. How your district chooses to honor it is at their discretion.
