These creator tools provide interactive opportunities for students to share their learning in a variety of formats. This session will provide a quick overview of how to create Live, Video, and Standard Quizzes and Studio Board Activities with SOS Templates and multi-response question types. Quiz and Studio are the perfect tools to monitor student progress all year long.

In this session learn about SOS (Spotlight On Strategies) starting with Flip Flop and how you will enhance your lessons, activity centers, choice boards and more. SOS has teacher resources and student resources to support good sound strategies in the classroom. Used as is or modified to fit a need or age group, you will always find something.
Better Health in Action empowers students to take action towards achieving health equity in their community and around the world, with resources available in 10 languages. Learn what resources we are creating next and share your ideas on how we can build a better program that fits the needs of your classroom and community.
Join us in taking a sneak peek at new social studies lessons coming to Discovery Education Experience this school year! We are developing social studies lessons for grades 3-5 on United States historical events to supplement educators’ existing curriculum. The lesson presentations will include produced videos and classroom activities to engage students and create opportunities for classroom discourse on important historical events. Utilizing artifacts (primary or secondary sources) that reflect these moments in history, educators will guide students through structured learning experiences that provide opportunities for text analysis and collaboration. Additional literary supports will be included and woven throughout the lesson presentations to supplement elementary teachers’ needs for high-quality literacy instruction in the content areas.

We are all now aware of the importance of our student's social and emotional well being. Do you know that Discovery Education cares as much as you do and has curated resources? Join me as I show you where to find some of my favorite SEL resources. I will demonstrate how to navigate the site in order to treasure trove these ready to use resource for all grade levels and including adults.
Classroom community matters! Amazing things happen when the classroom has a strong community. A space where students feel a sense of belonging, mutual respect is shown for both peers and adults, and an overall sense of responsibility to work together. Simply put, your classroom community is a foundational element of success for everyone. We will explore how to leverage Discovery Education resources to foster the development of a “DEN-mazing” Classroom Community!
As a District Instructional Technology Facilitator that serves 5 elementary schools, I knew that I needed to incorporate Discovery Education into some of the lessons I created to help teachers & Media Coordinators incorporate more digital tools. It all started with one Media Coordinator who was willing to let me create anything as long it was standards-aligned, and it hasn't slowed down yet! Join me as I take you on a journey through my process and share all of my resources with you!
A principal asks you to present an intro to DE workshop. What are the key elements you would include? What elements would you save for a future workshop? Would you model an SOS strategy? With a partner, you will select the elements to include/not include in a 30, 60, or 90 minute workshop. Be ready to share your design.
