A natural resource of which a finite amount exists, or one which cannot be replaced with currently available technologies.
Key Context
Water and plants are renewable resources. Water is renewable through the water cycle. Plants are renewable through the life cycle. We can always grow more plants. We cannot make more fossil fuels or replace them with currently available technologies. Therefore, fossil fuels are not renewable (nonrenewable) resources.
