Discovery Education Science for Elementary lets educators engage student minds with science while reinforcing important literacy and mathematics skills.

Organized so educators can easily find appropriate resources to guide student learning, Discovery Education Science allows students to Learn, Explore, Demonstrate, and Extend their knowledge.
Introduce scientific concepts through leveled reading passages and e-books, Fun-Damentals, and video segments. Addressing multiple learning styles, these resources also support literacy instruction across the curriculum. For example, students have the choice of listening to reading passages while they see highlighted text within the reading passage.

e-Book Reading Passages
Leveled informational science text and reading passages specific to each content area with audio support.
Fun-Damental
Gain the basic background knowledge necessary to begin study of a science topic through an inquiry-based introduction with audio support aimed at the early grades.
Educators and students can practice science like real scientists through Virtual Labs and Explorations. Make hypotheses, experiment by changing variables, and discover the underlying science in the world around us. Through experimentation, students will learn to interpret data, draw conclusions supported with data, and practice important mathematics skills.

Virtual Labs
Inquiry-based exploration of investigative design and science process skills at two levels of difficulty with audio support.
Interactive Glossary
Dynamic explanations of hundreds of science terms that engage student minds through animations, video, images, and more.
Exploration
Inquiry-based exploration of each specific science concept within a unit.

Let students demonstrate understanding through two types of assessment. Students can show knowledge through online selected response assessments enabling educators to quickly identify student progress, or teachers can print a Brief Constructed Response (BRC) for students to complete. BCR’s include teacher scoring tools.

Encourage additional learning and exploration by enabling students to access middle-school-level resources on particular topics. Also, let students see connections between concepts by exploring concepts that relate to each other.
Process Skills Library
Virtual Labs, Science Sleuths, and more provide students activities to learn necessary science process skills and solve real world science problems.
