Susanne was fortunate to serve as a public educator for 20 years which drove her passion for teaching and learning. Working for the Northwestern Lehigh School District, Susanne served as Superintendent of Schools, Assistant Superintendent, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, and Middle School Assistant Principal. Prior to joining Northwestern, Susanne wore two hats at the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21, a regional educational service agency in Pennsylvania, as an Educational Consultant in the special education arena and the Coordinator for Professional Development. As the Coordinator for Professional Development, she worked with 17 educational entities to support high quality professional development opportunities tied to increasing student achievement. Teaching kindergarten, second grade, fifth grade, and fulfilling a teaching assignment in Australia are some of Susanne's most favorite teaching experiences.
As Vice President for Professional Development at Discovery Education, Susanne works collaboratively with our school partners to plan and implement high quality professional development. Susanne has presented at PSBA, PASA, and is a member of ASCD.
I would place the professional development that has been provided at the top of the list in terms of quality, in terms of relevancy as well as engagement of the teachers and helping them see the possibilities of their students.
