Mary Carole Strother - Create Your Own Science Novel - Learn how your students and teachers can share their science knowledge and become published authors. Participants will explore a wiki filled with a variety of resources that will allow them to create digital books and graphic novels using Discovery Education images and iPad apps like Book Creator and Comic Book. Share your creations with a global audience by using Dropbox, Evernote, or Edmodo. Book making ideas may be adapted to other content areas and across all grade levels.

Want to collaborate with others while working in the Cloud? I'll show you how to create and share your work online and access your documents from anywhere using Google docs. Tom Turner - Student Center - Board Builder - This session will take participants through a step by step walk through of Discovery Education Streaming's new Student Center feature "Board Builder". Participants will also be able to view completed sample boards created by teachers and students and walk away with some concepts and ideas to incorporate this constructivist tool into their curriculum. Hands-on time will be given to begin constructing their own boards through demo accounts.
Carlos Fernandez - Merging Social Media Concepts Into Instruction - The harsh reality is that many of our school districts block key social media tools in their school learning environments. This presentation will focus on teaching tools and strategies that can be used by taking social media concepts (Pinterest, Twitter, Facebook…) and merging them into student’s daily common core instruction. Participants will receive all of the necessary tools to re-create and edit these ideas for personal use.
Debbie Bohanan & Danielle Aberbethy - Museum Makers - Participants will learn how to incorporate clips from Discovery Education into a multimedia project using Tech4Learning products Share or Frames. This session will highlight how students projects can be created to enrich a museum experience and be shared with others.
Karen Zilhaver - Discovery Education's Free Resources for Teachers and Students - Highlight the Discovery Education corporate partnerships that offer an abundance of free resources to teachers and students. Including: Siemens; Toyota; 3M; Together Counts; Fit 4 the Classroom; TurfMutt; Good Egg Project; and more. Provide and overview of partnerships, showing some of the numerous resources available for the classroom. Interactive and informative.
Mary Marshall & Ryan Westberry - iMovie puts the STEAM into STEM - Workshop participants will learn how design adds a creative element to STEM activities by using the iPad/iPhone application iMovie. This puts STEAM into STEM!

We set up your account or update your existing account and go over many the basics to make the most of Twitter. We’ll explore Twitter lingo, hashtags, and Twitter chats. Your PLN will grow because you’ll learn how to find new followers and get others to follow you.
