PR STEM 2022 2 1

Charlotte, NC. (Thursday, November 3, 2022) — Discovery Education and select social impact partners are offering engaging, high-quality digital learning resources to students and teachers to support observances of National STEM Day. Held annually on November 8th, National STEM Day unites communities in celebrating the importance of teaching science, technology, engineering, and math to students in grades K-12. Discovery Education is the worldwide edtech leader whose state-of-the-art digital platform supports learning wherever it takes place.

Discovery Education offers educators, students, and families hundreds of no-cost resources tailored to STEM teaching and learning wherever it takes place. Among the resources created in collaboration with leading social impact partners now available to support observances of National STEM Day are:

Engaging Classroom Activities
Integrate STEM into instruction with activities from the STEM Careers Coalition – the first-of-its-kind national STEM initiative powered by corporate and non-profit leaders and anchored in schools by Discovery Education. These activities span a broad range of STEM topics and feature important skills, as well as step-by-step guides for implementing activities in your classroom.

The STEM Careers Coalition is celebrating its third-year anniversary with new resources from partners, including AstraZeneca, Boeing, Keysight Technologies, IF/THEN (an initiative of Lyda Hill Philanthropies), Nevada Gold Mines, Procter & Gamble, and Stanley Black & Decker. To date, the STEM Careers Coalition has reached more than 5.7 million students in its mission to build the next generation of diverse STEM solution-seekers. The partners of the STEM Careers Coalition share a common goal of empowering educators to teach STEM effectively in the classroom with an intentional focus on racial and gender equity. Representing a range of industry sectors, the STEM Careers Coalition seeks to prepare 10 million students for the future of work by 2025 by providing equitable access to digital content and experiences that engage students in instruction, build foundational STEM knowledge, and develop the critical skills students need for college and career success. In 2022, the Coalition welcomed new members such as Cox Enterprises, Nevada Gold Mines, and PepsiCo Foundation. View the complete list of STEM Career Coalition partners here.

“The PepsiCo Foundation is proud to be a Signature Partner in the STEM Careers Coalition. This partnership helps us continue our mission to ensure equitable access to economic opportunities. All children should have access to the endless career opportunities a STEM education can open up, and this partnership helps close the gap for under-resourced school districts,” said C.D. Glin, President of PepsiCo Foundation.
