It’s a great forum for learning practical and immediate implementation ideas and connecting with other educators from across the globe.” A global community of education professionals, the DEN connects members across school systems and around the world through social media, virtual conferences, and in-person events, fostering valuable networking, idea sharing, and inspiration. As one of the largest professional education learning communities, the DEN has impacted more than one million educators worldwide. The DEN conducts two virtual conferences annually. The Fall 2013 VirtCon attracted 3,500 attendees who participated online and at 70 in person events. “Discovery Education is excited to once again offer the DEN VirtCon as a professional learning opportunity for educators around the world,” said Lance Rougeux, vice president of learning communities and instructional implementation for Discovery Education. “This is an ideal event for educators interested in transforming their classroom or school through the thoughtful integration of digital content to learn new strategies and connect with their peers. I am looking forward to a great event and invite educators worldwide to attend.” Discovery Education is also encouraging teachers to create local face-to-face events at which they can convene with their peers, participate in the online events and discuss and workshop the online presentations.
