Join members of the Discovery Educator Network for DEN VirtCon: Fall 2020—four days of on-demand professional learning and instructional inspiration designed to allow you maximum flexibility and choice while still providing the practical, creative, and effective learning experience needed to reignite the curiosity and passion to support teaching and learning in any environment.

Who is eligible for VirtCon?
All Discovery Education Experience partners are welcome to participate.

Do I have to participate in all four days of VirtCon?
No need to worry–you can tackle the daily on-demand VirtCon content anytime that works best for you.
The evening live events are optional and will take place either on Zoom or social media, and recordings will be shared out afterwards. Participate in as much as your schedule allows.

Will I need to log in to Discovery Education to participate?
Yes, to access the on-demand VirtCon channel, you’ll need to have an active login. If you need assistance logging in to your Discovery Education account, please contact Education Support: Education_Info@discoveryed.com.

What should I expect when I register for VirtCon?
When the event starts, you’ll receive daily emails about the curated content available on-demand in your VirtCon channel and details about each evening’s live activity.

I registered for VirtCon but I haven’t received any emails. What should I do?

The emails may have been caught by a spam filter. Please check your spam, junk, clutter folders, etc.
To avoid this issue in the future, we highly recommend contacting your school or district IT team to let them know that they are a blocking information from a vendor that you wish to receive. If you have missed emails related to VirtCon Fall, please email Amy Davis, adavis@discoveryed.com for assistance.

Does it cost to attend VirtCon?
VirtCon is completely FREE. Check out all of our free events on our calendar.

Will I receive a certificate for participating in the event?
Participants will receive a survey to complete at the end of the four days and that survey will generate a link to a printable certificate that can be shared with your local school organization to request hours for professional development credit. How your district chooses to honor it is at their discretion.

What is a VirtCon viewing party?
Active DEN STAR members will be invited to independently host their own socially distanced or online viewing parties with colleagues in their local area. DEN STAR Educators are knowledgeable about the effective use of Discovery Education’s digital services, programs, and events. STAR Educators actively share this knowledge with other educators, and they report their sharing through the DEN online community.
