Building on the momentum of the Discovery Education Equity Talks live webinar series hosted by Discovery Education and Dr. Luvelle Brown, superintendent of Ithaca City Schools, NY, the Discovery Education Superintendent Symposium is designed to help district leaders seize the unprecedented opportunity to transform and reform education with an equity lens in the 2020-21 school year.

Dr. Luvelle Brown is the 2017 New York State Superintendent of the Year. He has served as superintendent of the Ithaca City School District (ICSD) in Ithaca, New York since January 2011. Prior to arriving in Ithaca, Dr. Brown had experiences as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, school CIO, and district-level leader in Virginia. Dr. Brown is a highly regarded speaker addressing a range of topics for local, regional, and national audiences. He has published numerous articles and books, including the recently released Culture of Love: Cultivating a Positive and Transformational Organizational Culture.
Executive Director, The Center for Culturally Responsive Teaching and Learning
Dr. Sharroky Hollie is a national educator who provides professional development to thousands of educators in the area of cultural responsiveness. Since 2000, Dr. Hollie has trained over 150,000 educators and worked in nearly 2,000 classrooms. Going back 25 years, he has been a classroom teacher at the middle and high school levels, a central office professional development coordinator in Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), a school founder and administrator, and a university professor in teacher education at Cal State University. Sharroky has also been a visiting professor for Webster University in St. Louis and a guest lecturer at Stanford and UCLA.
