One-Day of Professional Learning Dedicated to Foster Active Learning Throughout the Learning Cycle

Teachers know that students are engaged by active learning… but creating active learning environments and opportunities take time, expertise, equipment, and supplies. It is challenging or impossible to do as often as we would like.

Let’s explore interesting ways to engage students with MORE active learning and “doing science” throughout the learning cycle, without these constraints or added burden.

Calling Pivot Users! The Call for Proposals Is Open until June 16

Pivot Interactives Users are invited to present and share their best practices and instructional strategies for secondary science! Sign up in the form below if you're interested in speaking. Session proposals will be accepted through June 16, 2023.

Meet Your Hosts

Pivot Interactives co-founders began working in 2012 in their own classrooms develops direct measurement videos to allow them & their students to break out of the constraints of the classroom. Since then the platform has improved, the team has grown, and the content has expanded, but the commitment to revolutionizing science education is unchanged. At the Active Learning Symposium, you’ll get a chance to learn from:

Peter Bohacek

With a background in computer engineering and 15-year industry career, Peter moved to physics teaching for 20 years (and won the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching). Peter began using interactive video with his own students in 2010. The results were so promising, he was compelled to continue to explore how to expand the capability of interactive video.
