2024 Trident School Counselor Design Team
School counselors from each school district in the Trident area of South Carolina created lessons using the SCDOE Instruction Hub and Discovery Education. Educators from Charleston County School District, Berkeley County School District, Dorchester School District Two and Dorchester School District Four, participated in training for several weeks to learn about the employment and workplace needs within the Trident region. The training included a school counselor training on career readiness with the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce, a tour of the NUCOR Steel Mill to learn about manufacturing careers in South Carolina and a series of Discovery Education training on how to use multi-media within lesson planning. Educators presented the career lessons they created for students during manufacturing month to NUCOR, a Discovery Education Corporate Education Partner.
These lessons will be shared with fellow school counselors in the Trident area this school year.

DreamBox Math
I absolutely love to sit down beside students and become engrossed as well as amazed at how much they can learn on their own when they’re provided with ‘just right’ learning in such a fun and engaging way. It is not only filling ‘math gaps’ and accelerating the learning of students below grade level, but also challenging above grade level students based on their needs.
